Taking a kid fishing is on EVERY parents’ bucket list. Kids will surprise you… once the fish are biting the cell phone becomes detached and it’s GAME ON. I’ve never seen a kid NOT like fishing. The gloves come off, the war paint goes on and it’s ON like Donkey Kong! Typically I figure out where the panfish are and throw out a worm or a minnow rig and it’s like magic, there’s a fish right there on the end of the line. So you have to get that rod on their hands fast! And if that doesn’t get them juiced, well they need a doctor. Then it’s “who’s gonna get the biggest one” and the contest starts! But all in all, they NEVER forget that trip. They went, they pouted about it, they put their electronics down and FISHED for just that day and they’ll ALWAY remember it. But you have to take a picture with the cell phone, right? … yeah I get it. I guess they are good for something … once in awhile.
